WHO WE ARE

We are built for more.
That’s not just a tagline, it’s a truth we live by.

Project Grit was born from adversity.
Not in a gym. Not in comfort. But in the trenches, of addiction, chaos, disconnection, and the slow death of mediocrity.

I know what it’s like to feel numb.
Alive but empty. Surviving but not really living.
Pretending to be fine while everything inside is falling apart.

What nearly broke me wasn’t just addiction.
It was the disconnection from purpose, from people, from myself.

And I see that same emptiness everywhere now.
We’re connected by screens but cut off from meaning.
We scroll instead of speak.
We chase comfort and wonder why we feel hollow.

But I’ve learned something the hard way:
Discomfort is where we come back to life.

That’s why I picked up a ruck and started walking.
And that’s how Official Project Grit was born.

We host endurance ruck events that do more than challenge your body. They wake up your soul.
75-mile overnight missions.
50K spiritual treks.
13-mile outlaw loops.
Beginner-friendly 5-milers that still make you earn it.

These aren’t races. They’re rites of passage.
They strip you down and show you what’s underneath.
And if you're willing to carry the weight, you’ll discover: you’re built for more too.

We don’t move alone.
We ruck as one tribe. One Texas-grown community.
No man left behind. No shortcuts. No quit.

This is for the overcomers. The misfits. The ones who stopped pretending and started fighting for something real.

This is Official Project Grit.
Forged in fire. Fueled by purpose.
And wide open to anyone ready to carry weight, embrace the pain, and rise up.

Because we believe what the world has forgotten:
WE ARE BUILT FOR MORE.

terrence ogden - founder

Terrence Ogden is the founder of Official Project Grit, a movement built to challenge the epidemic of mediocrity by pushing people beyond their comfort zones and forging resilience through deliberate hardship. His mission is clear: to create opportunities where individuals confront real struggle, tap into their untapped potential, and emerge stronger in mind, body, and spirit. Terrence knows firsthand what it means to start from rock bottom. After years battling heroin addiction and spending time in jail, he reached a breaking point—a moment that could have defined his end but instead became the catalyst for radical change. Choosing a different path, he rebuilt his life one hard step at a time through rigorous physical challenges and an unrelenting commitment to personal growth.

Today, Terrence channels that experience into organizing ultra-endurance rucking events that do more than test physical stamina—they demand mental toughness and build authentic human connection. Events like the Immortal 32 Ruck, inspired by Texas history, and the Top of Texas 8 Peak Challenge invite participants to shoulder heavy packs, face grueling miles, and embrace adversity together. These aren’t just fitness events; they’re proving grounds for character, grit, and leadership. With over two decades of sobriety, Terrence has become a respected voice on resilience, purpose-driven living, and what it means to truly lead from the front. As a speaker and coach, he dismantles the myth of quick fixes and easy wins, preaching instead the power of discipline over fleeting motivation, the necessity of discomfort for growth, and the fulfillment found in service to others.

This fall, Terrence will undertake his most ambitious mission yet: a 1,000-mile solo ruck across Texas, covering 26 miles a day for 40 straight days with no support crew—just one man, one pack, and the open road. Titled 1000 Miles of Grit and Grace, the journey will be documented as a testament to endurance, faith, and the human spirit, inspiring countless others to confront their own battles and rediscover what they’re made of. Through Official Project Grit, Terrence proves that true transformation isn’t found in comfort—it’s forged in struggle. His life and work stand as a bold reminder that pain can become purpose, discomfort can create strength, and every hard mile walked is a step toward unbreakable character.

OUR MISSION

Official Project Grit was born at rock bottom.

We know what it’s like to feel lost, trapped in addiction, buried in shame, stuck in the cycle.
But we also know this: Pain can become purpose.

Our mission is to turn adversity into fuel.
To help people carry their weight physically, mentally, spiritually and come out stronger on the other side.

We do that through team based rucking events that break you down and build you back different.
Every mile tests your body. Every step forges your mindset.
We move together, always as fast as our slowest, because no one gets left behind.

These aren’t races.
They’re gritty, ground-level transformations.
They strip away the surface and reveal what’s real.

Every blister, every cramp, every mile under weight it all means something.
Because we believe struggle reveals strength.
And we believe every human is built for more than just survival.

If you’re lost, rebuilding, or searching for meaning, you’re not alone.
You belong here.

This is where pain becomes purpose.
This is where strength is forged.
This is Official Project Grit.
And we move forward.

Together.
