ONE MISSION.

This October, I’m rucking 1,000 miles across Texas. Solo and self-supported. No crew. No van. No shortcuts. Just me, a weighted pack, and 40 days on foot. I’ll start at sea level in Port Arthur, where the Gulf meets the bayou. From there, I’ll head west through small towns, open country, and harsh desert. Two thirds in, I’ll climb Guadalupe Peak, the highest point in Texas. Then continue west through El Paso, ending on top of Mount Cristo Rey, where I’ll lay it all down. Not for glory. For grace.

WHY I'M DOING THIS

Because I know what it’s like to be alive and feel completely disconnected-from purpose, from people, from myself. I’ve been there. Addicted. Burned out.Stuck in chaos. Numb. Surviving but not really living. What nearly broke me was more than just the addiction; it was the disconnection, the hollow feeling of going through the motions without meaning, of avoiding pain, avoiding truth, avoiding myself. I see it everywhere: we’re hyper-connected through screens but more isolated than ever, we scroll instead of speak, consume instead of create, chase comfort and wonder why we feel empty.I’ve learned the hard way that discomfort is where we come back to life. This ruck is a response to all of that-1,000 miles of stripping everything down, just me, the weight on my back, and the road ahead.A test of body, mind, spirit, and heart. It’s not about attention. It’s about intention. It's to remember what matters, to push into adversity instead of running from it, and to remind anyone watching that We Are Built For More.

Your challenge is to ruck 2.5 miles a day for 40 days = 100 miles.

The Why is Simple:

to build unwavering disciplinestrength that doesn’t stop with you, but ripples out into your community in powerful ways. It may sound like low mileage, but doing it daily, no matter what, is not easy. The miles aren’t the hard part—it’s the consistency, the refusal to quit, and the commitment to show up every single day.

Why We Do It:

Twenty-three years ago, I clawed my way out of addiction and chaos and began building a life anchored in faith, family, and fitness. Today I’m the founder of Official Project Grit. Our team-based rucking events are proving grounds—where hardship strips you down, shows you who you really are, and then calls you to use what you’ve built to lift others. Because the truth is this: hardship forges grit, and grit is what we carry forward to help others. As we say, “The meaning of life is to help another man see his.” That’s why this challenge exists: to test yourself, grow stronger, and turn that strength outward.

RISE AND RUCK EVERY SATURDAY

Kick off your weekend with challenge and a sense of community. Rise and Ruck is a free weekly rucking event held every Saturday at 6 a.m. in Wimberley, Texas.

Starting in front of the Wimberley Cafe at the square, the 5 mile route winds along Cypress Creek into the Blue Hole trails offering a perfect mix of fitness, nature.and community.

Bring a ruck and weight or just come walk and experience the community.Limited loaner rucks available.

IMMORTAL 32 RUCK 2-27-26 to 2-28-26

The Immortal 32 Ruck, our flagship event, is a 75-mile road march rich in Texas history. Starting from the Gonzales Memorial Museum in Texas to the Alamo in San Antonio this will challenge everything you think you know about yourself.

This challenging journey pays tribute to the Immortal 32, brave souls who responded to a call for help during the Battle of the Alamo in 1836.


NEW YEARS DAY 5 MILE RUCK AND COLD PLUNGE

Kick off 2026 with grit and a Polar Bear Plunge! We’ll meet on the square by the Wimberley Cafe at 10 AM and set out for a 5-mile ruck through the Cypress Creek and Blue Hole trails. The finish line? An icy plunge into Blue Hole to start the year strong. Bring your ruck with weight and whatever you need to take the plunge.

There is free parking at the Oak Park Welcome Center at 109 Oak Drive

WILLOW CITY RUCK

Spring 2026

Following the legendary Willow City Loop this 13 mile endurance challenge takes you through rolling hills, rugged pink granite formations, deep canyons, and wildflower fields shaded by live oaks, pecans, and mesquites. While the landscape is undeniably beautiful don’t let it fool you. This road will test you physically and mentally.

COMANCHE MOON RUCK

Summer 2026

The Comanche Moon Ruck is 13 miles through the night under a full moon. We ruck the Wimberley valley along the river, through town, and up Mount Baldy. It’s not about the miles. It’s a physical and mental test that gives you the opportunity to find out what’s in you when the night gets long.
