is more than just an endurance challenge — it’s a night of grit, tribe, and transformation under the full moon.
As the sun sets and the Texas heat lingers, we gather as one tribe, ready to shoulder the weight — on our backs and in our lives. This isn’t just about miles. It’s about pushing past comfort, testing our limits, and leaning on the strength of those beside us.
Under the glow of the Comanche Moon, we set out across rugged Texas ground — a mix of road and single track, where heat, fatigue, and doubt press in. But as the night deepens, something shifts. Strangers become teammates, grit becomes trust, and the miles become a proving ground.
This is a group event, not a race.
We move as one team. No lone wolves.
We are only as fast as our slowest member.
Our strength comes from how we lift each other up.
Important Details:
Self-supported event.
There are no aid stations and very few stores along the route. Every participant is fully responsible for their own:

Route & Terrain:
At the finish, we arrive not at a podium, but at a moment of shared victory — where we lay down the weight, look around at the tribe we’ve forged, and walk away stronger, sharper, and changed.
Because this is not just a ruck.
It’s a night that will test you, bond you, and remind you what you’re made of.
Join us. Carry the weight. Honor the tribe.

Project Grit’s Camino de Chimayó Ruck is an extraordinary pilgrimage of endurance, camaraderie, and spiritual reflection.
At 2 a.m., participants gather at the historic Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi in the plaza of Santa Fe — the starting point for our journey. With a symbolic weight in your rucksack, you carry not just gear, but the burdens and trials we all bear in life.
As the trail unfolds, we are surrounded by the majestic beauty of New Mexico’s high desert. The rugged landscape becomes both a challenge and a source of inspiration. A sense of camaraderie ignites among participants as we navigate winding trails and steep inclines together, forging bonds through shared struggle.
This year, we offer two distances:
Full Camino (50K) — Santa Fe to El Santuario de Chimayó
Half Camino (25K) — Camel Rock to El Santuario de Chimayó:
El Santuario de Chimayó, a sacred site known for healing and hope. Here, within its weathered adobe walls, we lay down our burdens — both physical and spiritual. In this sanctuary, we find solace, reflection, and renewal.
We are reminded that the truest pilgrimage is not measured by distance, but by the transformation it brings to the heart and spirit.
