Frequently Asked Questions

What is Official Project Grit?

Official Project Grit is a Texas-based endurance rucking movement built on the belief that humans are made for more. We create events, challenges, and storytelling experiences that combine grit, teamwork, and history to push people beyond mediocrity.

What is rucking?

Rucking is simply walking with weight on your back. It’s one of the most effective ways to build strength, endurance, and resilience. At Official Project Grit, rucking is more than fitness, it’s a tool for growth, connection, and proving to yourself what you’re capable of.

What makes your events different?

Every event is designed with meaning behind the miles. From retracing the 75-mile march of the Immortal 32 to climbing Texas’ highest peaks, each challenge blends history, hardship, and camaraderie. We don’t just cover distance, we carry weight together, physically and mentally.

How do I train for a ruck?

Start simple: walk with a weighted pack 2–3 times per week, gradually increasing distance and weight. Add strength training and conditioning as you progress. Sign up for our newsletter, we share free tips to help you prepare.

How do I stay updated on events?

Subscribe to our Newsletter, follow us on Instagram (@officialprojectgrit), and check our Ruck Events page. That’s where we drop announcements, training opportunities, and sign-ups.

Do you do private or corporate events?

Yes. We run “Ruckshops” for teams, leaders, and organizations. These sessions combine endurance training with lessons on grit, teamwork, and leadership. Reach out to us directly to learn more.

Can I volunteer or help without rucking?

Yes. We always need support at events, from logistics to photography to cheering people on. Volunteering is a powerful way to be part of the tribe.

How can I support Official Project Grit?

You can ruck with us, donate, sponsor, or grab Official Project Grit merchandise. Every step, every dollar, every shirt helps us spread the mission further.

WILLOW CITY RUCK

13 MILES UNDER WEIGHT THROUGH OUTLAW COUNTRY

MOVE AS ONE TRIBE. FINISH TOGETHER.

Long before these roads carried tourists and Sunday drivers, this country belonged to outlaws, cattle rustlers, and men who lived by their own code.

We step into that same country and carry our own weight across it.

The Willow City Ruck is a 13-mile endurance ruck through the rugged Texas Hill Country along the legendary Willow City Loop.

Rolling hills. Pink granite. Deep canyons.
Wide open ranch land under a big Texas sky.

Timed during peak wildflower season, it’s one of the most beautiful roads in the state.

But don’t let the scenery fool you. This road is unforgiving.

This is a team ruck. We move together. We carry weight together. We finish together.

No one gets left behind.

There are no aid stations. There are no shortcuts. There are no excuses.

Everything you need goes on your back.

At the finish there’s no podium. Just a tribe standing shoulder to shoulder, laying down the weight and looking back at the miles they earned together.
